A real Mayan experience at the town of Tizimin
The town of Tizimin is famous for the traditional fair in honor of the Three Kings, which comes at the end of December and beginning of January. Because of this fair, the city has the nickname “City of Kings”. It has established itself as a destination where tranquility and rest reign among homes overrun by greenery that gives them a mystical touch, as if time had stopped. It is only 124 miles west of Cancun and 26 miles south of the Rio Lagartos harbor. The town’s name translates to “Tapir,” (a sacred animal for Mayans).
