Nachi Cocom Lagoon: What to expect
The project to make Nachi Cocom Lagoon into a tourist destination has developed for a couple of years with helpf of a local rural tourism association. This association, with the residents’ own resources, is turning it into an increasingly better tourist center. They have already built palapas, bathrooms, and have acquired kayaks and vests. In addition to the lagoon, people or families can enjoy the tranquility, the freshness of the trees, as well as the typical regional cuisine.
The struggle of a community
A group of 75 members of nearby communities got together to carry out the project and had the task of cleaning the trails and the whole place, to leave it in good condition. Also, with the ads made through different media and social networks, people from different places have been visiting the lagoon and it is constant.
