The Puerto Aventuras Golf Course brings you closer to the nature of the Riviera Maya

Thomas Lehman, a well-known PGA golfer, created the first golf course in the Riviera Maya in 1991, a 9-hole Par 36 course. Beautiful plants, including large palm trees, bougainvillea, and tropical trees, surround it. The towering Ceibas, which are Maya sacred trees, stand vigil at the edge of the fairways. They protect the knowledge of their ancestors. Their native wildlife and natural obstacles will make playing golf there a thrill. The course is welcoming, adaptable, and dynamic. Depending on the weather and your health, you can play nine, 18, or 27 holes. Since they have all this equipment for rent, you can play the course comfortably with an electric cart. All this while pulling a “pull cart” or carrying your clubs on your shoulders. Here is some info on the Puerto Aventuras golf course.

Pros and cons

This charming nine-hole, par 36 golf course, which is only 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen and 15 minutes north of Akumal, is still one of the Riviera Maya’s best-kept secrets. The Puerto Aventuras Golf Course is a fantastic practice area and was created by Tomas Lehman, the only golfer in history to win Player of the Year awards on all three PGA Tours. Although there is no practice range here and the facilities are less comprehensive than those at other golf courses, some modifications have already been made under the current administration. The fact that this course is less expensive and is more quickly than the majority of the other Riviera Maya golf courses is a plus.
