During their journey along the Mayan sacbé, or white road, don Fidencio G. Márquez, accompanied by his son and a worker, faced an ambush halfway to his farm. Attacked by a group of assailants, he suffered severe injuries, leading to a fatal outcome. While don Fidencio was the target, his companions emerged unharmed. This tragic event marked the beginning of a series of unfortunate days, casting a lingering shadow over the local community, ultimately prompting their departure from this place.
