Diving in Cozumel: Who to book
There are dozens of operators for snorkeling and scuba diving. Some offer their services right at the boat terminal, others are in the town of San Miguel or you can book them at the hotel or directly on the beaches.
Cruise in the Caribbean
Most of the 50,000 islanders live in the main town of San Miguel de Cozumel. It is also becoming increasingly popular for cruises to the Caribbean, which are also offered by cruise24. Day-trippers have plenty of time to explore San Miguel during their cruises from MSC, NCL, Costa or other operators. With numerous restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities, the place has adapted perfectly to the ship travelers.
Places of interest
Parque Punta Sur is located at the southern tip of the island. On a natural road you reach a wooden footbridge with an observation tower, where with a little luck you can see the crocodiles living freely in the lagoon landscape. After a short drive you reach a lighthouse, which can be climbed and offers a great panoramic view over the south coast and the lagoons in the hinterland. A little further on, there is a nice beach for swimming and snorkeling.
Chankanaab is a national park and water park located about 7 kilometers south of San Miguel. Here you can snorkel among colorful fish, swim with dolphins, see a sea lion show, visit a botanical garden or just enjoy the beach. All very touristy and if at the same time a horde of cruise ship passengers has booked the excursion, Chankanaab can also be very crowded.
