You don’t need a fancy hotel to enjoy Marlin Beach

Among the beautiful beaches in the Cancun hotel zone, with its facilities, location, and easy access, a day at the beach can’t go wrong at Marlin beach.

Where is Marlin Beach?

Marlin Beach is in the northern half of Cancun’s long and narrow hotel zone, and it’s easy to get to. Once you see Plaza Kukulcan to your right, on Kukulcan Blvd., turn right. Marlin Beach is at the end of Tepen Street. The sign is clear as day and the access to vehicles is cut off. If you’re driving, you can leave your car at the parking lot across the street from the beach access.

Available services

The access is really cool. A long and narrow wooden walkway, it looks like a pier heading off into the ocean. The bathrooms are close to the access point and here you can rent deck chairs and umbrellas. There are also a few tables and benches you can use. Besides steps, the “pier” also has ramps for wheelchairs.

The Marlin Beach

Marlin Beach has the trademark white sand and turquoise water of the beaches at the Cancun hotel zone, but the sea is a little bit rougher here, great to ride waves or dive under them, for a change. Thankfully, there’s a lifeguard on watch at all times.

Because this is a public beach, somewhat hidden away, Marlin doesn’t tend to get too crowded. You’re almost guaranteed to find a calm space to do your own thing without the feeling of isolation of some of the other, more secluded, beaches in and around Cancun.

Should you want to enjoy this stretch of beach for a few days, Marlin Beach is close to some of the fancier hotels in Cancun, like The Royal Sands and the Ritz-Carlton. Smaller hotels, like Casa Turquesa or the Villas Marlin, just behind Plaza Kukulcan, are also close by.
