Within Uxuxubi, a small church dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe stands. It is adorned with its own altar and a traditional palapa. Guided tours around the lagoon provide an up-close encounter with the majestic Moreleti crocodile, and an exciting project is currently in the works, allowing visitors to swim with these captivating creatures.

Uxuxubi Lagoon near Akumal: How to get there
To get to this destination you must take Federal Highway 180 that takes you to Cancun and go directly to Akumal. Once there, you will have to go into the jungle up to where the town ends and you will find a dirt road; after 11 kilometers you will come across Uxuxubi.
You can go by car or public transportation; you also have the option to leave your car in Akumal and take a motorcycle cab to take you all the way. The trip takes four and a half hours in total.
