Selva Maya Eco Adventure – Where jungles are more than just trees

There are many ways to enjoy the Mayan jungle: trek through it, see the wildlife, camp under the stars… or just spend a few hours at Selva Maya Eco Adventure.

Where is Selva Maya Eco Adventure?

Selva Maya Eco Adventure is on the Chetumal-Cancun highway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen among other eco-parks and tourist attractions, such as Xel-Ha Eco Park. A park transport drives visitors between the park and the highway, so don’t worry about walking a long stretch of road.

Sooo many ziplines

Once in the park, you’ll feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle—because you are. And what better to fly through it? The zipline circuit is a combination of platforms and hanging bridges, all with their respective zip and security lines expertly managed by the park’s guides. You can even hang upside down as you fly at tree height from platform to platform.

Ropes are not just for zip lines in Selva Maya Eco Adventure

Next, rock climbing. Just grab on to every nook and cranny you find as you inch your way to the top. You don’t have to worry if you slip and fall, your guide, and the security rope, have your back. Don’t feel bad if you have to be pulled up. You won’t be the only one. We promise.

Don’t ditch your harness just yet. Once over the wall, it’s time to climb down the other side—again, a guide has you covered. Rappelling down a vertical wall is tough business and no doubt you’ll break a sweat. Sounds like the perfect time for a dunk in a cenote.

Swim in cenotes

There are two cenotes in Selva Maya Adventure Park, and both are excellent to snorkel in. Stalactites reach down from the dome and stalagmites from the bottom, under the surface. Cool off and see the rock formations and the fishes swimming alongside you through the clear water in the cenotes. Swimming in the almost darkness would shatter anyone’s notion that the jungle is just a bunch of trees.
