Pájaros Island
This little paradise is a small islet in the Yalahau Lagoon, which serves as a refuge for a great diversity of birds, such as pelicans, frigate birds, white ibis, ducks, herons, storks and flamingos in certain seasons.
It is also a natural reserve, so access on foot is not available. It is only possible to observe from the viewpoint.

Just 30 minutes by boat from Holbox, it is a beautiful freshwater lagoon in the middle of mangroves and lush vegetation that you can admire from the top of the viewpoint. According to legend, its waters have healing properties, which is why it is also the “fountain of eternal youth”.

It is a totally flooded ecosystem that is full of cork trees, which is the reason of its name. This place is home to one of the largest populations of jaguars in Mexico.
Other species that can be observed are pumas, ocelots, deer, wild boars, monkeys and a large number of birds.
