Croco Cun Zoo: See you now, crocodiles!
Croco Cun Zoo is an interactive conservation zoo that originated as a crocodile breeding farm and is located about 12 miles from downtown Cancun. Hurricane Gilberto damaged it in 1988, and the focus shifted from breeding to saving and promoting crocodiles over time. Here you can learn about the behavior and preservation of over 400 animals of more than 40 species through a guided tour.
Croco Cun Zoo: What to expect
Croco Cun Zoo offers a tour that lasts about an hour and is led by professional, pleasant guides, and is a memorable experience for families, groups of friends, or couples. This is an entertaining way to learn about the flora and fauna of the area. Feeding beautiful spider monkeys, petting a young crocodile, and strolling through an area where 50 or more crocs roam freely are among the highlights. This is an interactive conservationist zoo where you are allowed to touch, hold and feed crocodiles, monkeys, deer, and snakes.
You’ll be able to interact with and feed some animals while learning interesting facts about the local wildlife, and if you’re courageous enough, you’ll be able to stroll among crocodiles with the help of our guides. Pay attention to the tops of the trees, where you’ll most likely notice a group of wild spider monkeys hanging around and playing.
