After visiting the ruins in Tulum cycle to Santa Fe Beach
Besides its famous archeological site, there are many places to see in Tulum, like its beaches. Being close to the site, in Santa Fe Beach, visitors can freshen up after a morning of touring the ruins.
How do I get to Santa Fe Beach?
Of all the beaches on the strip near Tulum’s archeological site, Santa Fe is nearest to it. It’s easy to get to from the road that runs along the east side of Tulum’s National Park and links Santa Fe with the other beaches in the area, Paraiso and Pescadores. Other than cars and taxis, many choose to cover the distance on foot or a bicycle. In fact, Santa Fe is particular among its sister beaches because it is visited by many cyclists, evinced by the large number of bicycles chained near the access point.
The Beach at Santa Fe
Though beautiful, many beaches along the Riviera Maya have a thin patch of sand. Santa Fe is different. Once you bury your toes in the sand here, you still have a fair few feet to cover before you can soak them in the ocean, too; enough room for kids to run around.
Here you’ll find every service to make your stay a comfortable one, starting with bathrooms and showers. There’s also an area with tables, each with an umbrella to shade you from the sun. They’re available for rent, but order something from the Santa Fe Beach Club’s restaurant, and use the table for free.
Other than that, there are no palapas or palm trees, so be sure to bring an umbrella or something similar so you don’t burn up in the sun.
Eat or spend the night
Besides the beach club, there are many places around Santa Fe where you can grab a bite… or, rather, many kinds of bites: from a fresh fruit snack to a whole traditional Mexican meal. As we mentioned before, all the beaches in the area are linked, so take a walk on the sand and pick your favorite among the many oceanfront restaurants.
In that same vein, there are many places where you can rent a room and spend the night around here, weather close to Santa Fe itself, or any of the other beaches.
