Getting to Oxman Cenote
Oxman Cenote, close to Valladolid, is a short drive southwest on Libramiento Sur Valladolid, within Oxman Hacienda. Easily accessible by any means of transportation, there’s a parking lot available for visitors. The spacious parking lot accommodates vehicles and bicycles, with a dedicated attendant ensuring smooth operations. From there, a short stroll leads to the cenote entrance, allowing visitors to focus on the upcoming experience.
The facilities at Oxman Cenote
The cenote is not the only thing you get access to with your entry ticket. Discover the amenities at Oxman Cenote:
- Mandatory facilities include bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers for visitors’ convenience.
- Access to the pool area located near the cenote entrance, offering a decent-sized pool surrounded by deck chairs and thatched palapas for shade.
- A mirador provides a preview of the cenote’s depths, offering a sense of the underground adventure that awaits.
You’ll get to the cenote by descending what looks like the entrance to a dungeon. A long stairway carved into the rock. Don’t worry, though, as an amazing view awaits you at the bottom.
Rock and nature and nothing more
Suddenly, you find yourself more than 80 feet underground, confronted by the rock walls of the cenote that shoot up, the sky above them. The trees on the surface extend their finger-like roots, reaching down to touch the deep blue water of the pool
There’s a high concrete platform around it. A couple of access points offer… different options, let’s say, to get into the water below: steps, to enter at your own pace; platforms to jump in; even a swing rope to splash in the middle of the cenote.
How to get there
Cenote Oxman is located just outside of Valladolid. It is around a10-15 minutes drive. It is also not too far from major tourist hot spots such as Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancun.
