Garrafon Park Isla Mujeres is a Different Kind of Eco-Park
Garrafon Park might offer the same things as other eco-parks, but that’s not what makes it unique. Its location, in Isla Mujeres, an island just off the coast of Cancun, is what makes this place truly special, offering experiences not available at any other place in the Riviera Maya.
How can I get to Garrafon Park?
Granted, being on an island, Garrafon Park is not the easiest place to get to unless you’re already staying at Isla Mujeres. The options are plenty, though. The most obvious one is to take one of the ferries constantly crossing between the island and the mainland. Some tourist companies include transportation all the way to the park, too. Whichever you choose, the experience that awaits you is much worth it.
What is there to do at Garrafon Park?
As stated before, the activities at Garrafon Park are not that different from other eco-parks. But the surroundings are. There are quite a few places to snorkel at the Riviera Maya, but the reef around Isla Mujeres, with its crystal-clear, turquoise waters and white sand, looks like somebody thought it up—it just can’t be real.
You might have ridden zip lines before, gone through some trees, but have you ever crossed the ocean on one? The course at Garrafon Park takes you along the coast and, after, over the reef, nothing but the clear ocean beneath you. It’s truly paradise.
Other facilities at Garrafon Park
It’s not all activities, though. One could spend the whole day at Garrafon Park just admiring the view. Spend some time on a hammock, or in one of the swimming pools, just enjoying the peace. Maybe have a drink in the bar? Or something to eat at the restaurant?
Though Garrafon Park might be less of an adventure park than others, like Xplor, it certainly makes up for it with its beauty. It’s more like a country club.
