Forget About Any extra Baggage at Punta Venado Beach Club
Though relaxing, days at the beach usually come with some baggage—literally. You need a towel, an umbrella, maybe a beach ball. Food alone presents its own difficulties. Where are you going to place it? Do you want sand with that? There’s no way to just go to the beach without getting scorched by the sun or hungry.
Is it?
Where is Punta Venado?
Punta Venado is on the Chetumal-Cancun Highway between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Aventuras, and the beach club is on a small peninsula, hidden away from everything else. It really feels private. It provides its guests with everything necessary to spend a day at the beach without having to worry about any extra baggage—just paying the bill at the end of the day.
The beach at Punta Venado Beach Club
I don’t know who was the genius who first looked at a beach and thought “I know—beds!”. That’s the main furniture along the beach at Punta Venado, each one shaded by a palisade palapa. Though most are open and next to each other, there are a couple of private ones, for larger, rowdier parties. You’re not confined to your palapa, though. You can also spend some time hanging around the “hammock park”.
No day at the beach is complete without swimming in the ocean, though, but that can be a logistical nightmare. Who wants to spend the rest of the day wet, or coated with sand? Fortunately, there are showers and changing rooms here, too.
Food and Drink at Punta Venado
If you get hungry, just grab a seat at the restaurant. It’s an enormous thatched palapa, open on all sides to continue enjoying the breeze. Don’t expect fancy, sophisticated food; it’s sandwiches and tacos, but they are a sight for sore eyes at the beach.
There’s a bar, too, where you can enjoy the view with a drink on hand or order it from your palapa or hammock. Either way, it makes the perfect ending for a day at the beach like no other.
