Playa del Niño beach in Puerto Juarez is the fishermen’s neighborhood known by the locals to eat or buy delicious fish and seafood, and known by tourists for being the departure point for ferries to Isla Mujeres.

Playa del Niño beach: Kids love it

The best aspect for kids about Playa del Niño beach is that the water is shallow, there are no waves, and there are lots of swing sets and other playground facilities to keep them occupied. It’s not far from the Ultramar drop-off, so getting public transportation there and back is simple, and all taxi drivers are familiar with the area. It’s a lovely spot to watch the sun rise with a breakfast baguette and coffee in the morning.

There are some street vendors here offering snacks such as snacks and candy. You’ll also find nearby restrooms and showers. Its palapas are free of charge and you can use them whenever you want. Although there are lifeguards on duty, it is best to heed their advice because the waves are a little stronger than in Cancun’s hotel zone. If you prefer something more formal, there are a variety of Mexican food and seafood restaurants a short distance from this beach that will let you stay on their beaches in exchange for food and beverages.

This beach is lovely and has the feel of one of those small, virgin beaches that is both beautiful and Caribbean. Bring garbage bags: no trash should be left on the beach.
