Come relax at Isla Mujeres’ Izla Hotel

Where is the Izla Hotel?

Izla is halfway down Isla Mujeres Island, right next door to another famous hotel, the Belo. All ports are on the northern tip of the island, but Isla Mujeres is so small that everything is just minutes away from everything else. A public bus or taxi can drop visitors off right at the entrance to the hotel. Or, for those who’d like to drive themselves, Isla Mujeres is famous for its golf cart rentals. You can drive all over the island in one.

Downtown Isla Mujeres is nearby, just across the marina. The playas Norte and Centro might be a bit far away (though, as we mentioned before, everything is close by in Isla Mujeres), but other famous tourist attractions are to the south of the island, like Punta Sur and Garrafon Eco Park.

What’s lodging at Izla Hotel like?

In a word: relaxing. The whole place is painted in light colors, even the rooms’ floorboards. It really does feel like a weekend at a spa. Regardless, Izla has amenities for children to have a great time, too.

The main pool continues with this spa theme, and it’s surrounded by tables and deck chairs to keep an eye on your aquatic kids, even as you go to the poolside bar to order a refreshing drink.

Speaking of bars, there’s another one on the roof, for adults only, with an infinite pool. On a clear day, you can see Cancun from here. Izla also has a restaurant and a café, both of which serve traditional Mexican dishes.

The beach at Izla Hotel

Though small, the beach at Izla is perfect for the relaxing environment the hotel wants to portray. It’s your typical Caribbean beach of white sand and clear and calm waters where kids can have a great time. Besides the deck chairs and tables, there’s a more private area with beach beds and an incredible view.
